Investigation on the prevalence of depression and anxiety disorder in patients with cardiovascular disease in hospitals at primary level

Abstract:

Objective：To understand the prevalence of depression and anxiety disorder in patients with cardiovascular disease in hos－pitals at primary level. Methods：Totally 510 patients with cardiovascular disease in outpatient and inpatient department were enrolled and investigated with a multicenter cross-sectional design. Using hospital anxiety and depression scale（HADS） to screen the pos－itive patients，who were then assessed with the Hamilton depression and anxiety disorder scale. Results：The results of Hamilton showed that the corrected prevalences for depression disorder，anxiety disorder and depression and anxiety disorder were 19.10%，13.59% and 10.92%. The recognition rate of the treatment of depression and anxiety was 4%. Conclusions：Cardiovascular disease with depression and anxiety disorder is a common problem in hospitals at primary level，its correct identification and treatment is not optimistic.
