    Abstract:

Objective:To determine the clinical value of transarterial chemotherapy embolization(TACE) plus high-intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU) in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma at middle-late stage. Methods:Totally 138 patients with hepatocellu-lar carcinoma at middle-late stage were devided into two groups. Patients in treatment group were treated by TACE plus HIFU while those in control group were treated by TACE only. Therapeutic effects were observed. Results:Symptoms and signs were allivated,tu-mor size was narrowed and 3-year survival rate was improved in treatment group compared with those in control group, with statisti-cally differences between the two groups(P<0.05). Conclusions:TACE plus HIFU is an effective treatment method for hepatocellular carcinoma at middle-late stage.
