】Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder. Symptoms typically include abdominal dis-comfort or pain,as well as altered bowel habits. Stress is a certain adaptive self-protect response to stimulations of inside or outside. Long-term chronic stress can cause or aggravate IBS in many ways. The article will review effects of chronic stress on irritable bowel syndrome.
