    Abstract:

    TheincidenceandmortalityofdiabetesinChinaareincreasingyearbyyear,andvascularcomplicationssecondarytodiabeteshaveprovedtobethemaincauseofdeathindiabeticpatients.Endothelialprogenitorcells(EPCs)canpromoteangiogenesisandrepairimpairedvessels,whileEPCsdepletionanddysfunctionleadtothedevelopmentofdiabeticangiopathy.ThisarticlereviewstheroleofEPCsintreatmentandpreventionofdiabetes-relatedcardiovasculardiseases.EPCsprovideanewapproachtothetreat-mentofdiabetes-inducedcardiovasculardiseases.Althoughpositiveeffectsweredocumentedbyanimalstudybothinvivoandvitro,clinicaltrialswithlargesamplearestillrequiredtoverifytheefficiencyandsafetyofEPCstransplantationtherapyinpatientswithdiabetes-inducedcardiovasculardiseases.Moderatealcoholconsumption,useofestrogenandstains,aswellasphysicalexerciseetc.canstimulateEPCstomobilize,proliferateandmigrate,theycanalsopromoteangiogenesis,whichisofgreatsignificanceforthetreatmentofdiabetesinducedcardiovasculardiseases.
