    Abstract:

Estrogen-related receptor α(ERRα) is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily. ERRα is an orphan receptor, which does not need to bind with ligands to perform biological functions. ERRα is involved in the estrogen signal pathway and is an important transcription factor regulating cellular energy metabolism. In recent years, studies have found that ERRα is closely related to the progression of estrogen-dependent and non-estrogen-dependent tumors, and regulates the occurrence, progression, metastasis and drug resistance of various tumors. This article reviews the physiological function of ERRα and its role in a variety of cancers, and summarizes the new progress in this field.
