    Abstract:

Vitamin D3(VD3)-mediated biological effects and moderate interferon(IFN) response are essential for health; however,VD3 deficiency/insufficiency and impaired IFN response are often observed in the development and progression of various diseases, including microbial infections and tumors. Moreover, the clinical efficacy achieved by the combination of VD3 and IFN varies significantly depending on the type of disease and the target organs or cells involved, suggesting that there are extremely complex modes and mechanisms of inter-regulation between VD3 signaling and IFN response. This article gives an overview of this topic,so as to provide a reference for the basic and clinical translational studies in this field.
